The Child Dental Benefits Schedule was designed to assist families with the cost of preventive dental care for eligible children ages 2- 17 years. The program aims to make family dental care more accessible to help keep your child’s teeth in good health. The Child Dental Benefits Scheme provides up to $1,000 dollars per child for every 2 years for basic dental services.
The CDBS covers a range of dental services including examinations, X rays, scale and cleans, fillings simple extractions, fissure sealants and root canal treatments. The child Dental Benefits Schedule does not cover cosmetic dentistry, invisalign or braces.
Patients who qualify for the Child Dental Benefit Scheme may be able to access a rebate and/or discount for certain services. Please contact Medicare for specific information on eligibility, availability and / or suitability.
